The Town of Berkley invites residents, abutters, and interested members of the public to attend a public forum on the proposed sidewalk improvements connecting Berkley Middle School to the Town Common.

The Town has been working with its engineering consultants to develop a concept design intended to improve pedestrian safety, accessibility, and connectivity along North Main Street.

During the forum, Town officials and project representatives will:

  • Present the updated sidewalk concept design and proposed improvements.
  • Discuss pedestrian safety, roadway crossings, and accessibility considerations.
  • Review potential impacts on neighboring properties and the surrounding area.
  • Provide an overview of project funding and anticipated next steps.
  • Answer questions and gather feedback from residents.

The project is supported by $850,000 in federal Community Project Funding, along with technical assistance through the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s Local Early and Actionable Planning (LEAP) Program.

Public input is an important part of the planning process. The proposed design remains in the conceptual stage, and feedback received during the forum will help inform the Town’s decisions as the project moves forward. All residents and interested parties are encouraged to attend.
