Town of Berkley – Storm Recovery & Public Safety Update
The Town of Berkley remains under a local State of Emergency until 5:00 PM on Friday, February 27th, 2026.
Road conditions continue to improve, and municipal lots are clear. Berkley Town Hall will be open on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The Berkley Public Library will be open during normal operating hours. Berkley Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, February 26, 2026. School-related updates will continue through Berkley Public Schools’ official channels.
Pedestrian travel is strongly discouraged. Roadway surfaces are expected to refreeze and become icy, creating hazardous walking conditions. Motorists should continue to exercise caution, particularly on secondary roads which may remain narrow.
Cleanup and roadway widening will continue over the coming days as conditions allow. Residents are asked to keep parked vehicles off roadways to assist the Berkley Highway Department with continued widening and snow removal. The Highway Department has touched every roadway in Town over the past 72 hours and worked extended hours today clearing both municipal facilities and the Town’s roadway network.
We recognize the inconvenience caused by the closure of the Transfer Station and the disruption to private trash and recycling pickup, which may vary significantly by provider.
Berkley was fortunate to avoid widespread power outages through most of the blizzard; however, isolated outages have occurred today. Residents experiencing power issues should contact TMLP directly to report outages or service concerns.
Police, Fire, and EMS services remain fully operational. The Town appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation as recovery continues. Please continue to monitor the Town website, TextMyGov alerts, and official social media channels for updates as conditions evolve.
